AUDIO POSTCARDS from the Past
Stories presented on OUR TOWN will focus on history topics of local interest, such as a city’s origins, early pioneers, famous citizens, historic buildings, landmarks and memorable moments in city or county history. Audio Postcards will be featured on City web pages, in the TEXAS STORIES Listening Library, Texas History Resource Center, and in the new OUR TOWN section of our Weekly e-Newsletter. Modeled after Producer Kathleen Jenkins’ two, award-winning Texas History Radio Series – The Capital City Chronicles (1989) and The Corpus Christi Chronicles (1992), the OUR TOWN Audio Postcards will use music, sound effects and the art of storytelling to bring local and regional history to life. Like the TEXAS STORIES Audio Series, each program will have a companion web page in the Listening Library that features the audio clip, transcript, historic image and links to related online resources. (See Sample)

AUDIO e-CLIPS: Share the Stories of YOUR TOWN
Historians, educators, museum curators, historical societies and businesses are invited to suggest topics and/or sponsor an Audio Postcard, Snapshot or Portrait about a person, place or event important to the community.
We'll also help you share YOUR STORY by recording - over the phone - a short, 60-second, descriptive narrative about your museum, historic site or upcoming festival. Your e-CLIP (and optional slide show) will be featured on your TEXAS STORIES City web page and in our Texas History Resource Center. Together we'll bring Texas History to Life! Online ... One Story at a Time!
