Friends of Libraries and Archives of Texas
The Friends of Libraries & Archives of Texas (FLAT) is an I.R.S. 501(c)(3), nonprofit volunteer organization that advocates and promotes the statewide services and collections of the Texas State Library & Archives Commission (TSL). It also assists local groups in support of their libraries and archives. The Friends are currently assisting the TSL in raising funds for the renovation of the Lorenzo DeZavala Buildling, which houses the State Library and Archives in Austin, Texas.
The Texas State Library & Archives Commission (TSL) preserves and documents the heritage and culture of the Lone Star State through its many collections. Its archives include documents, maps, manuscripts, photographs, paintings and other historical resources. Many of these artifacts and their stories will be featured in TEXAS STORIES programming and on this web site.The Friends of Libraries and Archives of Texas accepts tax-deductible contributions from corporations, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and individuals on behalf of TEXAS STORIES to raise awareness for and help make information about Texas' Archival Treasures more accessible to all citizens.
